Privacy Fence Installation
Privacy Fencing is the use of fences to protect privacy, usually by preventing outsiders from seeing onto your property. Privacy fences are often limited to between 6 and 8 feet and encircle your property on the back and sides, meeting the house are the halfway point of the property. They can be constructed from a variety of matierals including Pressure Treated Pine, Cedar, Vinyl and Metal.
Why do I Need a Privacy Fence?
Simply, to protect your property, your investment. By fencing off your yard, you are preventing prying eyes from peering in on you. This helps protect your investment by not giving any would-be thieves the motivation of seeing something valuble that they 'must have'! A Privacy Fence will also help you rent your villa. In Central Florida, it is not uncommon for two villas to be less than 10 feet from each other, and installing a Privacy Fence will help your renter as they won't have to see the strangers next door on your neighbors pool deck. You may know your neighbors, but they probably do not. By fencing in your yard, you are also providing a safe place for kids to play and should you allow pets, somewhere for your renters pets to play and be safe.
What Material is Best?
There really is no better material between the ones available for building fences, it all comes down to your taste, your budget and possibly your Home Owners Association rules.
Wooden fences are generally constructed from either Pressure Treated Pine or Cedar, both of which are very good at resisting the abuse that Florida's weather and climate can throw at them. 4" x 4" posts are sunk up to two feet into the ground at 8 feet intervals and 3 railings are connected in the gap. The Fence Pickets are then attached on to these railings providing a strong and robust fence.
Vinyl Fences are generally the favorite for Home Owner Associations. A Vinyl Fence consits of 4" x 4" poss being sunk into the ground and then a 'Post-Cover' is placed over that. To these posts are pre-built fence panel is connected.
Gates can be constructed for each type of fence, allowing for access from the exterior of the house, and there really is a limitless number of styles available for each kind of fence.
